A Study on the School Health Education for Prevcnting Adolescent Drug misuse or Abuse


Abstract
This study was conducted to offer basic information for promoting adolescent healthy by investigating school healthy education for preventing adolescent drug misuse and abuse in middle and high schools in Pusan.
The data were collected by questionnaire from teachers to provide school health education in 178 middle and high schools,, and it was carried out from Feb. 2 to Mar, 10 1993, was analized with the calculations of frequency, percentage and
X©÷-test.
@ES The results of this study are summarized as follows:
@EN 1. The content of the school health education.
Of the content of the school health education, the highest percentage was 93.2% about "psychological state and emotional change in drug misue and abuse", and there were a significant difference in "life attitude and personal relation change" and
"intellectual ability change" according to the teacher's lecture subject(P<.005, P<.01).
2. The plan of the school health education
68. 9% schools which provided health education had planned it, there was a significant difference according to the teacher's lecute subject(P<.005). The teaching proposal and guideline of the plan field was most widely rate in 80.4%.
3. The operation of the school health education.
Of the schools surveyed, school health education was given to 83.1%,not 16.9%. There were not a significant differences is the execution of health education according to teacher's lecture subject and type of school. The pamphlet and printed of
the
teaching aids were the highest in 71.6%. The health education was given the highest rate in the classroom(77.7%). The teachers were co-operation with associate teachers in 66.2%. 88.5% of schools had not support sources, if be supported,
supporters
were
multiple.
4. The evaluation of the school health education'
The evaluation of the health education was executed in 27.0%, there was a significant difference according to lecture subject(P<.05). Of the evaluation methods, simple examination was highly.
5. The attitude of the school health education.
The attitude of the school principals has "moderation" in 60.7%, the attitude of the teachers provided health education has " necessary" in 85.4%. the teachers wanted regulary curriculum which was adopted he drug-related content in 84.8%, there
were the
highest rate.
